Probashe Borshoboron: Celebrate Bengali New Year 1432!
Colts Neck, NJ — April 21, 2025 — The vibrant festival of Probashe Borshoboron is set to bring together the Bengali diaspora and interested locals on April 26th as we celebrate the Bengali New Year 1432. The event hosted by the Bangladesh Association of New Jersey (BANJ), Inc., this annual celebration promises to be a colorful and joyous event, filled with traditional music, dance, and culinary delights.
Probashe Borshoboron, meaning "Bengali New Year in Exile," is a cherished occasion where Bengalis living abroad come together to mark the beginning of the new year with cultural pride and community spirit. This year’s celebration will be held at Colts Neck High School, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Highlights of the event include: - Traditional Cultural Performances: Enjoy captivating performances of Bengali dance, music, poem recitation, and a variety of artistic expressions by local and guest artists. - Authentic Bengali Cuisine & Pitha Utshab Festival: Savor the flavors of Bengal with an array of traditional dishes, including a variety of Pitha prepared by renowned community members. - Boishakhi Mela: Browse through stalls featuring ethnic wear, jewelry, and art pieces, showcasing the vibrant Bengali heritage.
